I am planning to use Healthy Home  for painting my interior walls. However, the colors are limited so I would like to use Latex Tinting Colors.

What is the ratio needed for a full tone Hansa Yellow and full tone Toluidine Red.

What Healthy Home Paint do I need to get for this? (Hygienic White or Clear Base?)

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Dear combski,

Thank you for your interest in our products and services!

Boysen® Healthy Home™ is available for tinting through any of our Mix-and-Match™ stores nationwide. There’s a complete list of locations in our main website at www.boysen.com.ph.  Mixing up full tone shades and dark colors are not suitably prepared on site for reasons of mixture stability.

Should you need more clarification on the matter, please feel free to contact us again. Thank you for your continued patronage!

Very truly yours,

Thank you for the reply.

Can I also ask the code of the Healthy Home Paint I need to use as base for my selected colorant? Is it still Hygienic White to mix with Hansa Yellow or just a clear base?

Does a fulltone mix means 1 liter of tinting color mixed with 4 liters Paint
OR
1/4 liter tinting color with 4 liters Paint.

Your reply is greatly appreciated.

Dear combski,

Thank you for your continued interest in our products and services!

For both inquiries posted in our forum, kindly note that tinting dark or solid full tones are not advisably done on-site. Hygienic White is a color variant available for Boysen® Healthy Home™ and may only be mixed at a maximum ideal ratio of 1:16, colorant to paint, respectively. This is the suggested ratio for all other paint products subject to jobsite mixing.

Again, your color requirements may only be availed via two possible avenues:

                1. Plant mixed, ordered through any of our distributors
                2. Mix-and-Match™ premixed, through any of our in-store tinting machines nationwide. The store attendant should be able to know based on formula which tint base to use. Dark shades usually require deep or clear tint bases depending on the color.

Tint-bases are not sold as is over the counter as they are solely purposed for the Mix-and-Match™ mixing requirement. For specifics on the locations nearest you, kindly visit our main website at www.boysen.com.ph.

Should you need more clarification on the matter, please feel free to contact us again. Thank you for your continued patronage!

Very truly yours,

Thank you again for your continued clarification.

A few more questions though:

If the fulltone (e.g. toluidine red & Hansa yellow) can only be ordered and plant mixed, is there a minimum order? What is the price implication?

If I will use a color variant (e.g. Shining ochre) and add Hansa yellow (1:16 ratio), it is possible to darken the shade and be near the fulltone of hansa yellow?

Would it be the same for Rosy variant added with Toluidine Red (1:16)?

Regards,

Dear combski,

Allow me to answer your questions point-by-point:
1. If the fulltone (e.g. toluidine red & Hansa yellow) can only be ordered and plant mixed, is there a minimum order? What is the price implication?

Specific volume requirements and prices will depend on your chosen dealer/distributor/hardware. Best to consult with any of our stores nearest you for this.

2. If I will use a color variant (e.g. Shining ochre) and add Hansa yellow (1:16 ratio), it is possible to darken the shade and be near the fulltone of hansa yellow? Would it be the same for Rosy variant added with Toluidine Red (1:16)?

Using a colored paint as your base for tinting to darker tones is a good idea provided you will stay within the previously mentioned tinting limit. However, you still will not reach an exact match of your preferred color.

Should you need more clarification on the matter, please feel free to contact us again. Thank you for your continued patronage!
