Boysen Paints, a leading brand in the country, in partnership with Dupont, the global leader in chemicals, launches a coating innovation that will set a new standard.

Virtuoso Silk Touch is the first paint in the country to incorporate an innovation from Dupont, Teflon surface protector. While Teflon surface protector technology is associated with pots and pans, its non-stick properties offered innumerable benefits to different industries including clothing, electronics, communication, and medical science.

According to Boysen vice president Johnson Ongking, the adoption of Teflon into paint technology is an industry breakthrough that rewrites the traditional rules of painting.

In the past, decorating professionals and homeowners had to compromise aesthetics for washability. Traditional flat paint finishes create an elegant appearance because they hide wall flaws but are nearly impossible to clean. Glossy paints, on the other hand, are cleanable but accentuate surface irregularities, making for an unattractive finish.

With the use of Teflon surface protector technology, Virtuoso Silk Touch solves this dilemma by being the first low sheen paint with the cleanability of a glossy paint. When oil and dirt come into contact on walls painted with the Virtuoso Silk touch, they bead up and do not spread or penetrate deep into the paint film. This makes it perfect to resist greasy fingerprint stains, which consumer research indicates is the most common household complaint.

Other common stains such as coffee, catsup, and soy sauce are easily removed with regular cleaning using soap and water. And unlike ordinary paints that leave shiny patches when cleaned, Teflon fluoroadditives continually migrate to the surface to replace those that wear off, ensuring the walls maintain their rich-looking finish even after many cleaning cycles.

This makes the paint ideal for use in high-traffic areas of the home such as the kitchen, dining and living rooms, as well as public areas such as restaurants, hotels, and offices.
